The Roanoke Civic Center has announced it will host Clay Aiken in
concert on Wednesday, July 21. Produced by AEG Live and C & C
Concerts, tickets for Clay Aiken in concert will go on sale Saturday,
April 24th at 10:00 AM and may be purchased at the Civic Center
Ticket Office, on-line at www.tickets.com and by calling toll free
(888) 397-3100.
A native of, Raleigh, NC, Aiken's full-length studio debut, The
Measure of a Man, sold 613,000 copies and went No. 1 on Billboard's
Top 200 during its first week of release. His debut single, "This Is
the Night," made history by going No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
It sold more than 392,000 copies during its first week, beating Elton
John's record for "Candle in the Wind 1997." Aiken's current smash
hit, "The Way/Solitaire" sold more than 100,000 copies to also debut
at No. 1 on the singles chart. Aiken has performed the song on the
"Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Saturday Night Live" in recent
weeks.
Aiken's phenomenal success over the past year has landed him on the
cover of Rolling Stone magazine and resulted in two nominations for
MTV TRL Awards, a 2003 American Music Award nomination for "Favorite
Male Artist" and "Bestselling Single of the Year" Billboard award for
"This Is The Night."
