If you're furious with yourself for missing Thursday night's Clay Aiken concert in Jackson, calm down: He'll soon be back in the area.
The "American Idol" star will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Allegan County Fair. Tickets, priced at $30 and $35, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday.
"We're thrilled to have him. ... He's a great act for the fair -- this guy doesn't offend anybody," fair manager Terry Bonnell said. "Needless to say, he's got a lot of star power. ... We're anxious for Clay to be here and all the 'Claymates,' as they call them."
In an interview with the Gazette about his Jackson appearance, Aiken promised his show will incorporate not only material from his highly successful "Measure of a Man" CD but also "some new stuff, like covers of songs I grew up with. It's going to be a really good family show."
This year's fair, which runs Sept. 10-18, also will feature concerts by Toby Keith, Hank Williams Jr., Lonestar, Gretchen Wilson and the Newsboys. "We think we have perhaps the best lineup in the grandstand we've had in years," Bonnell said.
