In a nutshell. If that weren't already this thread title, I'd give you my vote.

He must've gotten an offer he couldn't refuse.

Let the speculation begin!

Okay, I'll start - Clay will host or be the musical guest on SNL.
Because he will be appearing on Broadway or releasing a Christmas CD or announcing a new tour with Ruben.
Please don't pick apart with actual factoids.
Thank you.

My thought is it is for Celebrity Apprentice.

I am so sorry for everyone that will be affected by the change, but it sounds like you will be rewarded if you can make the December ate.

...and EEEEEEEE!!!!! for a Network appearance. It must be pretty big for Clay to postpone the Gala for almost 2 months.

Yes. the change in dates truly has something to do with Clay's career (no other details than that). I find that quite comforting.

Yay!

I don't care if he's appearing on Toddlers and Tiaras, it's news! ;)

Thanks for the reschedule, Clay. I'm going to see Darius Rucker on the 22nd so spacing out my favorite singers sounds just fine to me. *g*

As someone pointed out on CV, the most sense is that he's going to be on Celebrity Apprentice. The exposure for the National Inclusion Project would be too big to refuse.

Personally, I can't get excited by that. I have never watched that show and really have zero desire to watch it now. I might check it out if Clay is on but I'm not sure even he could hold my attention with that show.

This is very exciting and interesting and only for Clay would I go through all the trouble of changing everything!

Got the hotel dates changed (no problem there) and now I'm working on changing the airline tickets.

I'm so sorry for everyone who can't change plans and must back out. I agree, it has to be something important for Clay to reschedule.

OTOH, October was looking like a no-go for me. December may be more doable. Good thing I hadn't yet bought airline tickets.

Well, I wasn't going to Raleigh in October, but I think I'm going to make hotel reservations for December. Why, yes, I think I'm going to Raleigh. I'm not going to miss a chance to catch Clay's chestnuts roasting once again.

What.

eta: Celebrity Apprentice is in as a mid-season entry, after football ends but I think they film the whole thing in advance.

Is Celebrity Apprentice on the schedule for the fall season? If so, I'm thinking this might be it. They'd be done taping by the beginning of December and, as ch1 mentioned above, the exposure for the National Inclusion Project would be huge.

Changed hotel dates - thanks Beagle for the reminder

Changed car reservation - free with points. I knew driving all over would have some rewards and at least there is no penalty. I feel for all who have to pay airline penalties

I am looking at the extra time positively - both for myself and for Clay. I hope this is something big that will give him exposure in a positive way.

Checked the website:

Anyone else have a strange desire to hang out around Trump Towers in October? Being unemployed may have its benefits after all.

Any chance we're opening the Stampede for disappointed meers who can't make Raleigh in December to sell tickets to lucky meers who've finally decided to get off the fence and head for Raleigh for some holiday cheer and warm mushies?

There is nobody I hate more than Donald Trump (well, that's not true, I have a long list, but he's definately on it). If Clay were on CA, I would bite the bullet and watch it. Gawd help me. The other show would be the X-Factor. I had made up my mind not to watch that show because I can't stand SC and PA is annoying, but I would be v happy if they would extend the olive branch to Clay.

BWAH!!! Love your hourly posts!!!!

*g*

I don't think he would change the Gala lightly. So....EEEEEEEEEE and a I am sorry for all those who have to change plans or due to the change can no longer make it.

The change doesn't work for me...I am about 99% sure that is Nutcracker weekend for my family and that rules traveling right out.

Oh and I need to go on record to say I can't stand the Donald. And I Hates the thing on his hair that is masquerading as Hair. I really don't like Celebrity Apprentice but if he's on it...I will watch it.

How funny would it be for Clay to be on the show and make his first appearance with Donald Hair?

I just got off the phone with Southwest Airlines, and I have some good news for those who booked travel to Raleigh on that carrier: Just call Customer Service with your reservation number handy, and they will transfer your reservation to the new date. No fees. Just seamless service. Love that airline! This post may travel. :)

Re: Change of dates for the Gala

Wow! I learned of this around lunch time today. I can safely say, the National Inclusion Project folks must surely have been scrambling to make the necessary changes to make this all work.

So much in downtown Raleigh is booked up at Christmas time -- it must have been crazy trying to find a place(s) that would accommodate all the attendees, the Silent Auction & Raffle, Champions of Change Award winners, Live Auction, and Clay's performance, too. Most of these places are booked 1 yr. in advance.

I'm so sorry for those who can't make it or have problems and expenses due to this change. I know it will be a hardship on many. Glad to see that for some the dates in Dec. work better and can now attend.

The only thing I can think of is -- eeeeee ----Clay is doing something on Network TV!! -- plus, he will be performing at an extended concert with some Christmas songs. How exciting is that!?? Clay singing again -- double wow!

I could watch Celebrity Apprentice only with the mute button handy. But if it gets Clay the exposure he so needs and deserves, I'm there.

I really cannot afford going but an extended performance may just make me go. Daughter's wedding be damned.

And Clay on network TV!!!!!!!!
